IndieMath Terms & Conditions

Business and service

IndieMath is operated by Lipschitz Strategies LLC. For purposes of these terms, “IndieMath” means Lipschitz Strategies LLC, the operator of and counterparty for the IndieMath service.

IndieMath provides community-funded artificial-intelligence research attempts on open mathematics and computer science problems. Contributors choose a problem and may choose whether to support attempts to prove or disprove its canonical statement. Contributions purchase model usage, computational infrastructure, artifact storage, and related platform operations. IndieMath does not sell physical goods.

Research attempts, not guaranteed outcomes

A contribution funds an attempt, not a promised proof, disproof, publication, discovery, or other result. AI output may be incomplete or incorrect. A claimed solution is not presented as verified unless it passes the stated human review process.

How contributions are applied

Contributions are credited net of payment-processing and platform fees. IndieMath processes contributions within 1–2 business days after receipt; for this policy, business days are Monday through Friday. Processing means the contribution has been staged for compute and its public status changes from “received” to “processed.” Funds designated for a problem and direction are then applied to eligible AI runs as computational capacity becomes available. If a problem is solved unconditionally, any unspent balance designated for that problem may support attempts on other open IndieMath problems. A conditional result does not trigger that transfer.

Refund policy and process

Refunds are available only while an entire contribution remains unprocessed and has not been committed to model usage, infrastructure, or related processing. To request a refund, email contact@indiemath.ai with the contributor name, contribution date, amount, and Open Collective transaction or order identifier. If the request is eligible, IndieMath will return the contribution’s full net amount after Open Collective and Stripe processing fees through the original payment channel. Processing fees are not returned, and partial refunds are not offered. Once any part of a contribution is processed, the contribution is committed and final. This policy does not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

Disputes and chargebacks

For an unrecognized charge, attribution problem, or service complaint, contact contact@indiemath.ai so IndieMath can investigate and provide the relevant Contribution Tracker records. Payment disputes and chargebacks are also governed by Open Collective, Stripe, the contributor's financial institution, and applicable law.

Cancellation policy

One-time contributions cannot be canceled after processing, but an eligible unspent amount may be requested under the refund policy above. A recurring contribution may be canceled through the contributor's Open Collective account before its next scheduled charge. Canceling a recurring contribution does not reverse prior charges.

Public records and contributor names

IndieMath publishes contribution, allocation, run, transcript, and review information for transparency. Contributor display names are taken from Open Collective; incognito or anonymous contributions are displayed as anonymous. Payment credentials are handled by Open Collective and Stripe and are not collected by this website.

Project wind-down

If IndieMath can no longer operate, it may hand the project and remaining funds to another organization capable of continuing the work, preferably a nonprofit, or donate remaining funds to a reputable AI-for-mathematics organization such as FrontierMath, subject to applicable law and payment-platform restrictions.

Restrictions and promotions

Do not use the service where doing so would violate applicable law, sanctions, export controls, or payment-network rules. IndieMath currently offers no contests, sweepstakes, or promotional pricing. Any future promotion will have separate published terms.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the platform and payment arrangements change. The terms in effect when a contribution is made govern the treatment of that contribution unless applicable law requires otherwise.
